Obituary: Carolan, Betty L.
Age 73
Mom was born on May 26, 1939 in Winneshiek County, Iowa to Gordon and Dorothy Reid.
She married Leo on August 7, 1957 and moved to Spokane in 1961.
She was a homemaker who was a great cook and she loved to garden.
Betty loved her coffee hours with the neighbors and was always the first to help out another.
When her children were younger, she participated in school activities and the PTA.
Betty was a member of the north-side Eagles and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Mom loved her family and always made holidays special occasions.
She is survived by her children, Gordon, Lori (Scott) Oakshott, Julie, and Scott (Molly); grandchildren, Brad, Krystin (Landon), Nichole, Derek, Trey, Courtney; great-grandson, Colton; brother, Bill (Pinky) Reid; sisters-in-law, Pat Reid and Doris and Bootie; brothers-in-law, Jim Carolan, Floyd Baumler; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo, on July 18, 2012; her parents, and brother, Bob Reid.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Horizon Hospice or St. Patrick’s Catholic School.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 11 from 9:00AM - 8:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA 99207.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM Friday, April 12, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson (corner of Queen & Nelson) with a private family interment at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
