Obituary: Miller, Edith Louise

Age 99

MILLER, Edith Louise (Age 99) Our beloved mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away peacefully on April 2, 2013.

She was born on June 5, 1913 in Havre, Montana to her parents Thomas and Edith Riley.

She moved to Everett WA where her father was a trainmaster with the Great Northern Railway.

She graduated from St. Dominic’s Academy and then moved to Spokane WA.

On May 18, 1938 she married Dr. Gilbert H. Miller, a local orthodontist.

They were married for 47 years and he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was very active in the Spokane Women’s Dent al Auxiliary where she held several offices including President.

She was also very active in the Greater Gonzaga Guild.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always a joy to be with.

She and her family enjoyed many years at Priest Lake where much fun was had and friends were always welcome.

She is survived by her three children: Tom Miller (Nadine), Dorothy Roth, and Marcia Darrah (Chad) and five grandchildren: Patrick Miller ( Anna), Traci Satterfield (Tom), Jeff Miller ( Shawna), Lisa Roth, and Zeb Darrah (Shelly).

She is also survived by seven great- grandchildren; Natalie and Luke Miller, Griffin and Hudson Satterfield, Gerard and Paige Miller and Ethan Darrah, and by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church (428 W. 19th, Spokane, WA) on April 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane (121 S Arthur, PO Box 2215, Spokane WA 99210) , Poor Clare Nuns (4419 N. Hawthorne, Spokane WA 99205), or Catholic Charities (12 E 5th, Spokane, WA 99205).

The family wishes to thank the staff at both Riverview Retirement Center and Bella Vita Adult Family Home, as well as Hospice of Spokane.

They all extended great care and kindness in her final months.
