Police investigating suspicious device in downtown Spokane

Spokane police investigated the discovery of a suspicious device near the corner of First Avenue and Adams Street in the downtown area.

Police cleared the area around 12:45 p.m., police officials said.

Reports indicate a male plugged a small device into a gas meter and left the area, a news release from the police department said.

The roads and sidewalks were temporarily blocked to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
