It’s ‘Swimming in Flowers’: Olesya Gnatenko, Spokane Community College florist and greenhouse program student, adds a few touches Thursday to 18 varieties of flowers gathered to produce one of the five oversize floral koi fish to be auctioned off as part of the third annual Spring Flower Show on Saturday. The show will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Spokane Community College Lair Student Center. This year’s theme is “Swimming in Flowers.” It took about 10 students and an estimated 30 hours to form the 8-foot floral koi, said SCC horticulture instructor Loretta Etchison.
