“Messiah - The Rest of the Story” - April 13-14. Northwest Sacred Music Chorale presents its spring concert, with the Lent and Easter portions of Handel’s “Messiah.” Guest artists include Randel Wagner, baritone soloist; Cody Bray, tenor; Debbie Raby, alto; and Becki Stevens, soprano. “The Rite of Spring at 100” - Multimedia celebration of Igor Stravinsky’s famous ballet, presented by composer Donivan Johnson. No-host wine/soft drink reception will be held at 2:15 p.m. in the Helen South Alexander gallery prior to the 3 p.m. presentation. A new work by Johnson, “Apres-Danse Sacrale (After the Sacrificial Dance)” – commissioned by Mary Moldenhauer – will be premiered, performed by Lynne-Feller Marshall, bassoon, and John Marshall, cello. Civil War Sesquicentennial - Whitman County Historical Society presents a talk by Eric Leonard, chief of interpretation at the Andersonville prison national historic site. American Indian Heritage Week - Weeklong series at North Idaho College’s Edminster Student Union Building concludes today with two free events: Native American craft workshop for families from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Lake Coeur d’Alene Room. There will be free pizza and refreshments.
