He was born Sept. 1, 1922 in Wardner, ID to Emrys and Bertha (Griffith) Thomas.
Bill moved to Spokane at the age of 5 in 1927 and has lived here ever since.
He served in the US Army during WWII and made the landing in Normandy on D-Day.
He received a Purple Heart after being wounded in action.
After being discharged from the service he worked at Jensen Byrd of Spokane, Carnation Dairy and School District 81.
Bill was married to Florence Mae Martinson (Marty) from 1947-1988, till her passing.
He remarried in 1997 to Evelyn Harold to present day.
He is survived by Evelyn; 4 biological children Larry, Margaret (deceased), Keith and Susan (Sue) Thomas; step-children Mary, Steve, Mike and David (deceased); grandkids Adam, Kim, Katie and step-grandkids Christopher, Abigail and Matthew; sister Wilma and brother-in-law Lloyd Martinson.
He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, DAV and did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels.
Memorial Service 2PM Monday April 15th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7307 N. Nevada Street Spokane, WA 99208.
