Food for Fines: Spokane County Libraries – Today-Saturday. Get Lit! Regional MFA Reading - Graduate students from the University of Idaho, the University of Montana and Eastern Washington University will read. Sunday, 2-4 p.m., Barrister Winery, 1213 W. Railroad Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

National Library Week - This year’s theme is “Community Matters.” Tuesday: At 11 a.m., come see live owls at the Seagraves Children’s Library. The library Technical Services will also provide a glimpse at how they prepare books and other items for a collection. At 1:30 p.m., a “Reading Flash Mob” will meet by the Mudgy & Millie statue on Sherman Avenue. Wednesday: At 5 p.m., a reception for Dianna Dorisi Winget’s book, “A Smidgen of Sky,” followed by a writing workshop for kids in the Shirley Parker Storyroom. “Bravo! Bravo! Common Men, Uncommon Valor” – This documentary will tell the story of former Marine Ken Rodgers, who served with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment during the Siege of Khe Sanh in the Vietnam War.
