Authorities are looking for a man who is on the lam after he didn’t show for sentencing in Spokane on a federal child pornography conviction. Investigators indicted Daniel L. Camp, 33, for sharing and possessing images of child pornography, according to federal court documents filed in 2011. Camp pleaded guilty to the two violations last year. Camp allegedly stole his mother’s car early Tuesday night and left two notes behind indicating he did not want to go to jail and was leaving the area to start a new life, FBI senior agent Frank Harrill said. The FBI said in a news release that Camp is considered armed and dangerous, although agents don’t know whether he had access to firearms. But he had been armed in a previous encounter in 2010 with law enforcement, the release said. The incident did not result in criminal charges, Harri;l said. Camp is thought to have at least $1,000 on him, and may have cut his hair into a “buzz” cut, the FBI said. He’s driving a white 1991 four-door Ford Escort with a Washington license plate 096ZIS. Camp had been staying at his mother’s home in Spokane Valley under pre-trial release conditions, prosecuting attorney Stephanie Van Marter said, because he lacked a criminal history and had strong connections to the area. His family has a farm in Lacrosse, in Whitman County. He had not violated his terms of release until today, Van Marter said. He was scheduled for sentencing at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of Judge Lonny R. Suko.
