Obituary: Holtzclaw, Elizabeth Margaret

HOLTZCLAW, Elizabeth Margaret (Age 83) Of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Atlanta, GA passed away Monday April 8th, 2013.

Liz was born and educated in Spokane, WA, where she used to sing on the radio as a young girl, became a member of the Eastern Star and met the love of her life, Norman Holtzclaw, whom she would later marry.

Liz enjoyed working throughout much of her life, in her parents’ Spokane dairy store, Washington Water Power, Singer’s Casual Shops, and Harry Norman Realtors in Atlanta, GA.

Her eye for ladies fashion helped dress many women of Atlanta while store manager at Singer’s Tuxedo store.

One of Liz’s greatest passions was gardening, where she could apply her knack for outdoor design and green thumb to turn the most barren of landscapes into a botanical wonderland with immaculately maintained shrubbery and floral artistry.

She inherited these skills from her father and would often spend dawn to dusk creating the neighborhood showplace.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Earl Holtzclaw in 1980, her parents Jesse and Jean Grandstaff of Spokane, WA, her brother, Bruce Grandstaff, and grandson, Benjamin Sutton Williams II.

Her survivors include daughter Lizann Willams and her husband, Byron Bickes of Fort Myers, FL; son Kurt Holtzclaw and wife Cheryl of Loganville, GA; and grandchildren Brittany Holtzclaw of Atlanta, Kurt Jr and wife Kristy Holtzclaw of Ashland, OR.

Graveside Service to be held Tuesday, April 16th, at 1:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt.

Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328…..
