Age 99
She was born on April 6, 1914 in Sand Lake, ID to Henry and Ruby Twitchell.
Marie graduated from Spokane North Central High School in 1933.
She married Henry L. Martin of La Veta, CO on July 7, 1935 in the backyard of her parents’ home on North Dean in Spokane.
During her active life, she enjoyed being a homemaker and exercising her creativity through cross-stitch, sewing, cooking and other home crafts.
She also enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Colorado as well as gardening and growing dahlias.
Marie was a member of the Hillyard Senior Center and enjoyed taking day trips with other members and her sister.
She was also a member of the Retired Greyhound Drivers group (her husband drove for more than 20 years), a local photography club and a member of the Linwood Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Marie is survived by her sister, Betty Beard of Cheney, WA; stepsister Shirly Seehorn of Rockford, WA; grandson Jerry Davis of Vancouver, WA; nieces Ann Bettcher, Patricia Cowen; nephew Alan Beard; and one great-granddaughter, Claire Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Martin, daughter Norma Davis, sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Floyd Martin.
A time of visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 10am to 5pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Heritage Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 1pm.
