Liberty Lake officers make arrests for driving infractions

Multiple arrests for driving with a suspended license topped the week of April 8-15 in Liberty Lake, with officers nabbing eight drivers for the crime. Another driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

Several domestic violence incidents were reported to police, but none resulted in arrests. In one case a girl jumped off a third floor balcony after an argument with her grandmother, said Police Chief Brian Asmus. She was unhurt.

A resident in the 22000 block of East Country Vista Drive reported having his apartment egged several times. Two tires were reported stolen from the trunk of a car parked in the 1500 block of North Caufield Road on April 11. A woman called police on April 12 to report that someone had used her credit card to buy more than $1,000 in merchandise from Best Buy.

A sexual assault was reported in the 25000 block of East Hawkstone Loop just before 3 p.m. on April 9. The victim is acquainted with her alleged attacker, Asmus said. The case is under investigation.

During the week officers handed out five citations for failure to show proof of liability insurance. Additional citations were given for expired registration, driving without a license with identification, failure to use a required ignition interlock device and failure to obey a traffic control device.
