Obituary: Fisher, Lois Kabanuk

Age 95

FISHER Lois, Kabanuk (Age 95) Passed away on April 10, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

Lois was born in Crosby, North Dakota on February 14, 1918, to Luther Wilson and May Halvorsen.

She graduated from Crosby High School in 1935 and from Walla Walla College in 1939 with a teaching degree majoring in English and French.

On June 8, 1942, she married George N. Kabanuk who preceded her in death on February 7, 1982.

Lois taught in several schools over her career including more than 30 years for Spokane School District 81.

She was an active member of the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church since the 1940’s when she first moved to Spokane and served in many areas of church life including church board and finance committee, Sabbath School secretary, and participated in many vacation Bible schools.

Lois is survived by her children, Dean Kabanuk of Queen Creek, AZ; Lowell Kabanuk of Spokane, WA and Eunice Stern of Hailey, ID; grandchildren, Allen Kabanuk, Evan Kabanuk, Joshua Stern, Nicole Bjorklund; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St., from 1:00PM to 5:00PM Saturday, April 20, 2013, with funeral services also at Hazen & Jaeger on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 1:00PM with burial following at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
