Obituary: Eierdam, James Donald “Jim”

Age 82

EIERDAM, James Donald “Jim” Passed away on April 17th, 2013.

He was born March 9th, 1931 in Tacoma, WA to Antone and Francis Murawski Eierdam.

He attended Gonzaga University and while as student he joined ROTC ultimately being sent to Korea during the war.

When he returned he finished his degree and went on to complete a Master’s in Public School Administration at EWU.

Jim worked in the public schools in Kennewick from 1955-1986 serving as a teacher at the Jr. High schools, as an assistant principal at Highlands Jr. High, Kennewick High, and Desert Hills Middle School.

He was a contract negotiator for classified public school employees in Northeastern WA from 1986-2000.

He is survived by his wife Irene also brother Robert and family in Dallas as well as his children: Mary Eierdam, Peggy (Eierdam) and Bill Merk, children Alex, Trevor, Liam, and Brendan; Susie (Eierdam) and Steve Oord, children Drew and Melanie of the Tri Cities; Dan and Viki Eierdam of Vancouver ; Ben and Ashley Eierdam, children Ryan, Kimber and Gracie; Elsa Eierdam, children Taden and Tyler all of Spokane.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joan.

Jim was an avid golfer, home brew enthusiast and big fan of Gonzaga basketball.

He enjoyed watching baseball, reading, discussing politics and was enormously proud of all his children and grandchildren.

Viewing will be Sunday, April 21st from 12pm - 2pm.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 22nd at 12:00 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Spokane, WA.

Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
