Obituary: Geiger, Eva Frances

Age 90

GEIGER, Eva Frances (Age 90) Our Mother, Eva F. Geiger, 90 passed away peacefully with her family on April 13, 2013.

Mom was born on November 28, 1922 to Michael and Bernice Costa at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

Eva grew up in the Gonzaga neighborhood and graduated from Logan Grade School and from North Central High School in 1940.

After High School, Mom attended Kinman Business University in Spokane.

After graduation, Mom worked for the War Assets Administration in Spokane.

While attending Kinman Business University, she met her future husband, James A. Geiger.

Our parents were married in August of 1946 after Dad returned from serving in the U S Army Air Corps during World War II.

Our parents were married for 52 years before James passed away on June 25, 1999.

As an only child, our Mom wanted a large family, and her wish came true.

Mom and Dad raised seven children.

The next years were spent raising a family and experiencing a full life.

Cub Scouts, ice skating, swimming lessons, and summers at the lake.

Mom was our biggest cheerleader in whatever endeavor we chose.

As we grew older, Mom always took a keen interest in the activities of her children and grandchildren.

Mom always prayed for us and even would offer up her famous “Bonus Prayers” for us.

Mom, a devout Catholic, was a 63 year member of St. Charles Parish and a woman of great faith.

Eva not only loved her family but also loved her friends and neighbors as well.

Eva is survived by her seven children, James J. Geiger of Rochester, Michigan, Thomas M. Geiger (Vicki) of Spokane, Robert L. Geiger (Kathy) of Portland, Tennessee, Richard E. Geiger (Kathy) of St. George, Utah, Mary F. Synsteby (Bud) of Spokane, Daniel A. Geiger (Kimberly) of Spokane and Carol A. Geiger of Kirkland, Washington.

She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
