Questions for Alton

My daughter is a teacher in Battle Ground, Wash., where Duane Alton has given money, along with a group called Citizens for Responsible Taxation, to have the operational levy in that school district fail.

I would ask Alton, when is the last time he was in a classroom, much less one in Battle Ground? Does he have any idea what the percentage of children is who depend on school for resources to help them learn and become better citizens? Would he not like to have children in this state be able to achieve their own personal goals as he did?

An education is paramount to giving children a chance to own a business, teach, be in a profession that betters this society. Today, I go to a Battle Ground school to sit in my daughter’s classroom to get a better feel for what she is trying to accomplish. Why doesn’t he look teachers and children in the eye and explain to them his reasons for taking resources away from them when he has so many?
