Obituary: Christoffersen, Amy Beth

Age 90

Christoffersen, Amy Beth (Age 90) Amy Beth Christoffersen was born at Salem, Nebraska on November 6, 1922 and passed away April 24, 2013.

She was the daughter of Amelia (Schrader) Dowell and John Walter Dowell.

During her early years she lived in Brown County, Kansas and Richardson County, Nebras-ka.

She graduated from Falls City High School in Falls City, Nebraska, and attended Doane College, Crete, Nebraska and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska.

She taught a year in Lincoln, Nebraska before her marriage in 1945 to Dr. Frank D. Christoffersen.

In 1968 she received her Master’s Degree from Whitworth College in Spokane, and substitute taught for District 81.

She was a member of Garland Alliance Church, Chapter EQ, P.E.O., and the Archaeological Institute of America.

She enjoyed the hobby of genealogy for many years.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband Frank, but is survived by three children: Cheryl Wright (Donald) of Mukelteo, WA, Clark of Spokane, and Corey (Nelly) also of Spokane; two grandchildren: Sean Wright (Melissa) of Everett and Jared of Houston, TX; two nieces, Patricia Morris and Mary Kullberg.

Mother was a remarkably nice, industrious lady with many responsibilities, interests and accomplishments.

She and Dad loved to travel and she snow-skied for decades with her family.

Mother cared deeply about her family and the best interests and well-being of her children and made a number of costly sacrifices on their behalf.

Despite a number of years of physical incapacity and deteriorating health, she always maintained a gentle sense of humor and a sunny disposition.

We know she will dwell now in the gladness of her risen redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ forever.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 27 at Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave., Spokane, WA.
