Memphis cuts NBA playoff series deficit to 2-1

Zach Randolph had 27 points and 11 rebounds, and the Grizzlies returned to form Thursday night by beating the Los Angeles Clippers 94-82 at Memphis, Tenn., to pull to 2-1 in the first-round series.

Memphis snapped the Clippers’ nine-game winning streak by outrebounding and dominating on second-chance points, the same things Los Angeles did so well on its home court to start the series. Game 4 is Saturday in Memphis.

Marc Gasol, who accepted his trophy as the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year before tipoff, scored 16 points. Quincy Pondexter and Tony Allen had 13 each, and Mike Conley was 1 of 9 but had 10 assists.

Miami 104, Milwaukee 91: Ray Allen scored 23 points and broke the NBA career playoff record for 3-pointers, and the Heat used a big second-half run to beat the Bucks at Milwaukee for a 3-0 lead in their first-round series.

The Heat can complete the sweep in Game 4 on Sunday at the Bradley Center. No team has overcome a 3-0 deficit to win a series in the NBA playoffs.

Chicago 79, Brooklyn 76: Carlos Boozer had 22 points and 16 rebounds, Luol Deng added 21 points and 10 boards, and the Bulls held off the Nets at Chicago in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series to take a 2-1 lead.

Brook Lopez had 22 points and nine rebounds, and Brooklyn shot 35 percent for the second straight game.
