Central Valley grad Davis picked by Dolphins

Will Davis, a 2008 graduate of Central Valley High School, was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the NFL draft.

Davis, a cornerback, was a two-year starter at Utah State. He had five interceptions and broke up 17 passes as a senior last year.

Miami traded with Green Bay to acquire the pick, the 93rd overall. The Dolphins gave the Packers three picks today – the 109th, 146th and 224th.

Davis was a standout in basketball and track during his career at CV. He didn’t play football until his senior year. He played well enough that year to earn a scholarship to Western Washington University.

Following the school’s decision to fold the football program after his freshman year, Davis made his way to De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif., before going to Utah State.
