Westbrook sidelined

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook will have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and be out indefinitely. The Thunder announced the injury Friday and said Westbrook would have surgery “in the coming days.” The team did not give a timeline for his return. Westbrook was hurt in Game 2 of the Thunder’s playoff series against Houston on Wednesday night. Westbrook had the league’s longest active streak of consecutive games played, with 394 straight regular-season games. The All-Star averaged 24 points and seven assists in the first two playoff games, both won by Oklahoma City. – Associated Press
