Obituary: Fringer, Eileen Alice (Erlacher, Gleeson) “Lee”
She went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, April 7, 2013, after a long struggle with the residuals of a major stroke suffered in 2006.
Lee was a wonderful mother and grandmother, deeply loved by her family.
She will be sorely missed.
Lee served as a faithful volunteer for years at Sea-Tac Airport Chaplaincy and the VA Medical Center Chaplaincy ministering to the needs of others.
Under the auspices of Price Ministries, she also traveled to Bulgaria, helping in a Bible school.
Lee participated in various other mission trips including a volunteer opportunity in Israel where she lived in Army barracks as well as a French convent.
Lee belonged to FOCAS, a Christian singles group where she had many friends.
She also was a Bible student with Bible Study Fellowship.
During the 1940s, Lee earned her pilot’s license and flew a Piper Cub, which delighted her a great deal.
She was involved in the German Shepherd Dog Club of Washington State (AKC) and was the proud owner of three shepherds.
She was known in her senior years for her ballroom dancing at many Seattle area senior centers.
Lee was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Gleeson, her second husband, Al Fringer, and her sister, Mildred.
She is survived by her son, Steven (Lucy) Gleeson; daughter, Marilyn Gleeson; grandsons, Spencer and Aaron Gleeson; granddaughters, Geneva and Jayme Graham and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is her nephew, Arthur (Joann) Dalton of Florida and her former brother-in-law, Ralph (Barbara) Gleeson of Nevada.
Many special thanks to Archie Olson, a loyal friend, Virginia Bryan, who faithfully met with her each week, Sandi Fulton and Pastor Al and Many Ann Hulten of Spokane Valley Assembly of God - faithful ministers of God’s love.
Thank you also to all those who ministered to our mom through music and visits while she was with me in Spokane.
Also, special thanks to those who helped me care for mom these last few months: physical therapist, Nancy, of Providence VNA, and Alicia, home care aide, through VNA as well as Lee’s physician, Dr. Brian Yates.
Memorial service will be held in Valley Assembly’s chapel on Tuesday, April 30th at 1:00 p.m.
