Country superstar Aldean seeks divorce

Jason Aldean has filed for divorce.

The country music star filed the complaint for divorce against his wife, Jessica, on Friday afternoon in Williamson County, Tenn., citing irreconcilable differences. The two met in high school and have been married since August 2001.

Aldean’s publicist confirmed last week the couple had separated after media reports surfaced. The filing comes six months after Aldean was photographed while appearing to kiss former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr in a Los Angeles bar. Aldean later apologized to fans on Twitter for acting inappropriately.

He is country’s top-selling male act, one of its top touring draws and recently won the Academy of Country Music’s male vocalist of the year award. Aldean and his wife have two young daughters together, Keeley and Kendyl.

Beastie Boys plan memoir

The Beastie Boys want it all on the record.

The iconic hip-hop group has a deal with Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of Random House Inc., for an illustrated oral history. The currently untitled book is scheduled for fall 2015. Spiegel & Grau says the book will track the band’s rise from its high school years in New York City to its induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The publisher says “world-famous writers and cultural figures” will be interviewed for the project.

The book will be organized by surviving band members Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) with the help of hip-hop writer and editor Sacha Jenkins. Adam Yauch (MCA) died last year.

Peet reunites Parker, Danner on stage

Actress Amanda Peet has managed to lure Blythe Danner and Sarah Jessica Parker to share a stage again with her first play.

The Manhattan Theatre Club said Monday it will stage the world premiere of Peet’s “The Commons of Pensacola” this fall at New York City Center. Lynne Meadow will direct.

Producers said the play “is an incisive and funny new play about trying to love your family even when you hate what they’ve done.” Previews begin Oct. 22 with an opening on Nov. 21.

Danner and Parker will reunite onstage, having previously starred together in MTC’s 1995 production “Sylvia” by A.R. Gurney. Peet, known for roles in “Saving Silverman” and on TV’s “The Good Wife,” will be making her professional playwriting debut.
