Third woman arrested in suspected kidnapping, rape case

Spokane Police detectives arrested a third woman in a suspected kidnapping plot after a female victim told police she was held captive and sexually assaulted at a north Spokane home. Mindee S. Deligt, 33, is suspected of kidnapping the victim from the East Central area and raping her at a house at 4605 N. Lincoln St. Detectives arrested her Tuesday afternoon and booked her into Spokane County Jail for first-degree kidnapping and rape charges. The victim told police Monday she escaped through a window. She later led police to the house where detectives questioned and arrested Keila F. Chapman, 27, and Merriah J. Wernsdorfer, 30, on the kidnapping charges, previous reports said. Investigators do not believe the suspects have a history of sex offenses, Spokane Police spokeswoman Det. Lydia Prichard said. The kidnapping is related to the drug trade and not random, police said. Prichard said police have had several interactions with Deligt and Wernsdorfer in the past. Deligt has two drug convictions related to cocaine in addition to driving with a suspended license and negligent driving. In 2009, Wernsdorfer was convicted of drug possession. Chapman has no criminal convictions, according to court records. Wernsdorfer is in custody at Spokane County Jail with a bond of $100,000 and Chapman is in custody with a bond of $50,000.
