Obituary: Pratt, Milton Cameron

PRATT, Milton Cameron Of Rockford, WA died on July 31, 2013, on the family farm where he was born.

He was active in sports and served as an Eagle Scout.

After graduating from college in Dairy Science, he served his country for four years in the Air Force, before returning to the farm.

Milt’s passion was farming.

He began as a dairyman, slowly building the herd and seeking to develop a better dairy operation.

He moved his family to farm his uncle’s land in the Tekoa-Oakesdale area.

This began his transition from the dairy to raising hogs and finding his real passion to not just tilling the land, but learning and applying new theories and methods in the farming industry.

After farming in the Tekoa-Oakesdale area for over 40 years, Milt and Shirley returned to the family farm in Rockford.

He is survived by Shirley, his wife of 61 years, his son Richard (Diane) and his daughter Diane (Dennis).

His sons, David and Douglas preceded him in death in 1971 and 2012.

His grandchildren are Rick’s family Nathan, Bradley and Stephen; Diane’s family Jeff, Julie, Jill and Janet; and Doug’s children Jami, Marley, and Staci.

His funeral service will be held at the Rockford Methodist Church on Saturday, August 3, at 2:00 p.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Rockford Ambulance Fund.
