Woman dies in car collision near Deer Park

A Deer Park woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 395 on Friday afternoon. Judith Porter, 67, was driving east on Dahl Road northwest of downtown Deer Park just after 3 p.m. She attempted to cross the highway after stopping at a stop sign but failed to yield to a Ford pickup driven by Randall Nelson, 39, of Clayton who was driving south on the highway. Porter was declared dead at the scene. The 2007 Toyota Corolla she was driving was totaled. Nelson was transported from the scene with injuries. His condition was not immediately available Friday. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
