Color Run to close Monroe Street, Post Street bridges Sunday

Sunday’s Color Run 5K and a handful of road projects early next week will close several downtown bridges over the next few days.

On Sunday, the Color Run course will be closed from 7:45 a.m. to 11 a.m., blocking both the Monroe Street and Post Street bridges. Parking meters inside the route will be bagged and parking will not be allowed. Cars illegally parked will be towed beginning at 5 a.m. Portions of Riverside Avenue and Main Street will be blocked from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beginning Monday at 5 a.m., Post Street will be closed between Spokane Falls Boulevard and Bridge Road to accommodate the burying of a water line for a new fire hydrant. This closure includes the Post Street Bridge. Closed portions of the road will reopen Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Tuesday morning, pier repair will leave sections of the Maple Street Bridge closed. Northbound lanes will close starting at 7 a.m., while southbound lanes will shut down at 9 a.m.
