Obituary: Dickerson, Ruth

Age 98

DICKERSON, Ruth (Age 98) Passed away in Spokane, WA on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

She was born the ninth of 10 children on November 8, 1914 to George and Sadie Belle McBee in Meade County, KS.

Attended schools in Fowler, KS and was a registered nurse graduate of St. Anthony’s Hospital in Dodge City, KS.

She met and married Keith Dickerson in 1937 while working as the Gray County School Nurse in Cimarron, KS.

Went on to work as a Public Health Nurse in Kansas and Colorado and as a School Nurse in Prescott, AZ.

She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, PEO Sisterhood, Panhandle Nile and the Sandpoint United Methodist Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Kaye) Dickerson of Spokane; WA, two grandchildren, Harvey (Michelle) Dickerson of Temecula, CA and Scott (Christina) Dickerson of Henderson, NV; two step-grandchildren, Teri (Jerry) Kempf of Spokane and Mike Hollis of Jacksonville, FL; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews .

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00am, Thursday, August 8th, in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Pastor Stan Norman, Sandpoint United Methodist Church, will be officiating.

Ruth was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her and she will be missed greatly.
