Obituary: Bunch, Joseph “Roger”

BUNCH, Joseph “Roger” (Age 70) Roger Bunch of Chattaroy passed peacefully into the Lord’s hands on July 29, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Roger was a devoted family man and had many passions, but none more than his loving wife Linda, his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Roger enjoyed watching his favorite TV shows and was a sports fan.

He loved cheering on the Seattle Mariners, ZAGS basketball, the Spokane Chiefs, and NASCAR.

He had a lifelong love of cars and raced at the Deer Park drag strip in 1961.

Roger rose through the ranks of the automotive industry to become a successful Parts and Service Director at various Ford dealerships in the Northwest.

He spent his final working years managing an independent shop in Spokane before retiring to spend more time with family.

Roger was born in Spokane and spent much of his life there.

He graduated from North Central High in 1960 and married Linda Falco in 1961.

They were married for 52 years.

He lived in several cities throughout the Northwest, including Seattle, Portland, Ore. and Moscow, Idaho.

The Bunch family is thankful for the wonderful care provided by: Dr. Brian Yates and the staff at Spokane Internal Medicine; Dr. Jeffrey Elmer and staff at Spokane Respiratory; the therapists at St. Luke’s pulmonary rehabilitation; the doctors and nurses at Holy Family Hospital, particularly the Comfort Care staff; and Hospice of Spokane.

Roger is survived by Linda, and his children: Jeff Bunch and Jessie Bart of Vancouver, WA; Lisa and Jeff Lembeck of Nine Mile; Susan Riddle and special friend Jon Mead of Spokane; and Traci and Troy Vonasek of Chattaroy.

He is survived by 12 grandchildren: Vincent, Justine, William, Mary, and Ruby Bunch; Mitchell, Shane, and Nicole Lembeck; Austin and Wyatt Riddle; Matthew and Lynda Vonasek.

He is also survived by his sister, Jacquelyn Hilpert-Belzman, and Steve Belzman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virginia Bunch.

He very much loved the extended Bunch and Falco families.

A memorial service is planned for 1:00 on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Life Center Church, 1202 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.

The family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Spokane in lieu of flowers.
