Carpenter among several nursing injuries

Bob Condotta And Jayson Jenks Seattle Times

The Seahawks spent a good amount of Tuesday’s practice working on situations in or near the red zone. Seattle will have one more practice today before heading to San Diego for the first exhibition game Thursday against the Chargers.

OL James Carpenter didn’t practice Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. Carpenter, who has battled injuries in the past, participated in the beginning of practice before limping off the field midway through the workout. It doesn’t appear serious at this point, but coach Pete Carroll will assuredly be asked when he speaks with reporters today.

Play of the day

QB Tarvaris Jackson rifled a pass in the red zone to WR Perez Ashford, but the ball bounced off Ashford’s hands and into the air. Waiting for the interception was CB Byron Maxwell, who took off down the sideline untouched.

Injury report

RB Christine Michael walked off the field during the practice with an undisclosed injury. C Max Unger and WRs Early Doucet and Bryan Walters didn’t practice for the second straight day.
