Obituary: Hensley, Jody Louise

Age 61

HENSLEY, Jody Louise (Age 61) Peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, in Spokane, WA.

She was born on October 17, 1951, in Huntington Park, CA to Howard and Betty (Carey) Kaessner.

On December 7, 1991, she married John Hensley.

Jody worked as a physical therapist for 30 years and was particularly known for her great love and care for people, her devotion, convictions, and love for God’s Word, the Bible, and her personal faith and love for Jesus Christ.

Jody is survived by her husband John; sister, Susan Martin; brother, Mike Kaessner; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Betty Kaessner.

She graduated from Downey (CA) High School Class of 1969 and continued on to receive a degree in Physical Science from University of California, Long Beach - Class of 1974.

Jody played the flute and piano.

She loved to spin yarn, knit and felt.

She was a gardener, sang in the church choir and taught children the Word of God.

She found joy in road trips and taking care of her dogs.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cheney First Church of the Nazarene, 338 W. Betz Rd., Cheney, WA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Cheney Police Chaplin’s Fund: P.O.

Box 614 Cheney, WA 99004.

Funds will be disbursed to Samaritan’s Purse and Gospel for Asia.
