My costs to go up
Rather than just repeat the government lie about health insurance costing less and more people having it under Obamacare, it would be nice if your reporters worked a little to get more information (“Costs lower; more people covered,” Aug. 2).
I currently have a large deductible policy that I want to keep. It saves me about $8,000 a year in premiums. That pays for a lot of doctor visits, tests, food and whatever else I want. I still have insurance for major medical problems.
Under Obamacare only people under 30 can buy this type of policy. Because of my age I will not be able to keep my insurance. The cheapest Obamacare policy costs twice what my old one does. I won’t be able to afford health insurance, and I don’t qualify for the taxpayer-funded subsidy. The end result is that my costs will go up, and I will not have insurance because of Obamacare.
I believe a large number of people will have similar experiences, but the government and media won’t acknowledge this result of Obamacare. I recommend that everyone look into how this law will impact them and not blindly believe the government or The Spokesman-Review.
