Obituary: Kay, Joanne M.

KAY, Joanne M. Joanne Marie Kay, 76, of Spokane, WA passed away July 26, 2013 in Mukilteo WA.

She was born August 21, 1936 in Wallace, Idaho to Robert and Ella (Legault) Pledger.

Joanne was their only child.

Joanne attended schools in Osburn and Wallace and lived in the Silver Valley until attending college at the University of Idaho.

She then married and resided in Spokane Washington where she raised her three children.

Joanne retired from East Valley School District administration after working there for over twenty years.

She was known as a role model who provided positive guidance to many young students.

She loved her family and was dedicated to her Mother and Father.

She delighted in bringing the families together for many memorable holidays and spent time homemaking, gardening, boating and camping.

She especially enjoyed getting together with her many close friends.

Joanne was preceded in death by her Mother and Father.

She is survived by her three children Jolie Wenzel of Mukilteo, Washington; Kerri Kay-Riebe of Boulder, Colorado; Richard Kay of Vacaville, California as well as seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday August 17, 2013 at Valley Fourth Memorial Church, 2303 S. Bowdish Road in the Spokane Valley.
