Obituary: Mcmaster, Irene Louise (Ludwig)

Age 87

McMASTER, Irene Louise (Ludwig) (Age 87) Our loving mom passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at her home in Colbert, Washington.

Mom was born on June 11th, 1926 to Joseph A. Ludwig and Theresa L. (Velchek) Ludwig in Rudyard, Montana.

She graduated from Rudyard High School in 1944 and attended Northern Montana State College.

On September 6th, 1947 she married Wallace D. McMaster in Hingham, Montana.

Mom’s life was taking care of her family in addition to everyone else who entered her life as if they were her own.

She baked twelve loaves of bread at a time until shortly before her passing which was just one of the ways she made sure that everyone was welcomed and taken care of.

A lifelong member of the Catholic Church, she was a true Christian overlooking others faults, seeing the best in them and always providing love and support for her family.

Whether preparing meals, cinnamon rolls or cookies she was always there for others with her boundless energy and giving self.

Mom is survived by her daughters, Joann, Teresa, Karen and Lisa; and her sons Jerry, Don, Mark and Tim.

She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Ginger who are missing her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her best friend and loving husband Wally, son Paul and many of her eleven brothers and sisters.

Mom’s life will celebrated at a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 17th at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she will be laid to rest following Mass at 12:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Her joy and love of life and those in her life will always be with us.
