Obituary: Turner, Denise M.

Age 70

TURNER, Denise M. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, sister, aunt and wife, passed away peacefully to see the Lord on August 11, 2013 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, WA with health issues.

Denise was born to Dee and Ethel Weathermon on October 17, 1942 in Spokane.

She attended Adams School and Lewis & Clark graduating in 1960 and Kinman Business College.

She worked for several restaurants as a waitress.

While waitressing at the Bon Marche she met her husband, Don of 50 years.

She was an USMC wife, working in Kodiak, AK, Fairchild AFB, North Carolina and Virginia as a civil servant worker.

She then worked for Rockwood Manor as a housekeeper for 20 years, until her retirement.

She was a member of the Spokane Indians Boosters for 17 years in Section J.

She also had many hobbies; fishing, wildlife trips, reading and thrift store picking.

She loved her dog, “Cookie” and always liked to be active.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don, Sr; daughter, Cheri Stewart (Jon) of DE; son, Don Turner, Jr (Penny); sister, Carol Jensen (Al); brother, Stephen Weathermon; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Ethel Weathermon and sister-in-law, JoAnne M. Weathermon.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fairmount Memorial Park, Sunset Mausoleum Chapel, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Jim Clifton, Bethel Church of the Nazarene officiating.
