Diehl out six weeks

New York Giants offensive lineman David Diehl will need surgery to repair an unstable right thumb. The 32-year-old was hurt in Sunday’s preseason game vs. Indianapolis and is expected to be sidelined six weeks.

The surgery will come one day after Diehl was moved from right tackle to left guard in the wake of an injury to center David Baas.
