Obituary: Beardslee, Manuelita Haskel “Lita”

Age 92

BEARDSLEE, Manuelita Haskel “Lita” (Age 92) Born December 27, 1920.

Lita flew away from us as the sun was rising on August 18, 2013.

Lita was the perfect example of poise and grace.

She loved her family deeply.

She was a friend to many and loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Marion Vigus, her husband Ray Beardslee, and her daughter Bonnie Poulson.

She is survived by her brothers Doyen Vigus and Sprague Vigus (Phyllis), by her daughter and son-in-law David and Karen Valandra and her son and daughter-in-law Mark and Billie Beardslee.

She loved her 8 grandchildren and their spouses and her 18 great-grandchildren and they loved her.

Lita was an active member of the Touchmark community for 12 years.

They gave her wonderful care and she will certainly be missed by many of the residence and staff there.

She was especially blessed by the care she received on several occasions from her granddaughter Constance.

They had a very special relationship.

Lita was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, St. Martha’s Alter Guild, Monday Musicale, and the Symphony at Spokane Falls Community College.

She was a violinist, a ballet dancer, an artist, and a seamstress but the most important roll she played was Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend.

She wants to thank all who knew her for being part of her journey in this life.

Now she is off dancing with the cowboy she loved and her daughter.

A Memorial Services will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on the corner of 57th and Hatch in Spokane, WA on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10am.

Donations may be made to St. Martha’s Guild at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Spokane, WA or The Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane.
