Obituary: Haslam, Delma E.

Age 99

HASLAM, Delma E. (Age 98) Passed away on August 19, 2013 at the age of 98, just 17 days before her 99th birthday.

She was the first child born to Edith and Arthur VanLeuven on September 5, 1914.

Delma attended Mead Grade and High Schools, and was Valedictorian of her high school class in 1932.

She was a lifetime homemaker and the mother of two sons, Steve and Mark.

Delma was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold Helpingstine, and Hubert “Jack” Haslam; her two sons; siblings, Genevieve Miller, Stanley and Bruce VanLeuven.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon VanLeuven; three sisters-in-law, Mae, Irene, and Shirley VanLeuven; three step-children, Denise, Michaelyn and Seth all of California; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM on August 24, 2013 at the Peone Cemetery, Rev.

The family wishes to thank Royal Park Plaza for their gracious care during the past eight years, and also, for the recent care Delma received from Horizon Hospice.
