Obituary: Kirk, Lisa (Burns)

KIRK, Lisa (Burns) Died on Saturday morning of August 17th of a heart attack at the age of 48.

She is survived by her husband Michael Kirk; her mother Roberta (Bobbie) Burns; sister Jodi Donoghue Underwood; brother Jeff Burns; sister Lori Burns Mayberry; stepdaughter Alexis Kirk Halett, Son In Law Chris Halett and granddaughter Colbie Halett.

She has numerous nieces and nephews that she spent every holiday, birthday with and was surrounded by a close and loving family including her cousins in Canada.

She was doing what she loved best- getting ready for a golf tournament in Deer Park, Washington.

Lisa married Mike Kirk June 14th 2003.

They just celebrated their 10 plus 12 year anniversary as she posted on Facebook, dating for 12 years before getting married in Las Vegas at the “Wee Kirk O the Heather” wedding chapel.

Lisa grew up in Edmonds/Lynnwood area and attended Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, WA.

She moved to Spokane, WA in the early 1990’s and worked in the mortgage industry, mainly as a Processor.

She was working at Homestreet Bank currently and considered her Co-Processors family too.

She was highly admired for her work ethic, knowledge and capabilities.

Lisa LOVED her granddaughter Colbie.

She never had children of her own and she loved to spoil her.

She has picture after picture of Colbie at her desk and would tell stories of Colbie- what she said or what she did.

She loved all of her great nephews and nieces and went to many a school concert or basketball game or birthday party.

Lisa loved to golf!

Weather allowing, she did so every Saturday and Sunday with her “girls” at Wandermere golf course.

She loved to play in tournaments with her husband Mike most of all.

When you heard the “grunt” you knew that ball was going a long way.

She had so many golf friends who loved her.

Lisa looked forward to one week every year up at Waitts Lake fishing with her husband.

She often said it was the best week of the year- no phones, no television, just lots of reading, fishing and alone time with her husband Mike.

She shared all of the fish they caught with whomever wanted some.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father Ken Burns and nephew Michael Donoghue.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 2nd at 6 pm at Wandermere Golf Course by the big bridge close to the 18th Tee Box.

Reception to follow at Fizzie Mulligans on Hastings Rd.

We are asking people to bring a picture of Lisa that means something to them for a memory board to FIzzie’s to be given to her husband Mike.
