Conversion therapy outrageous

As a mother and caregiver of five children, I am both astonished and repulsed that “conversion therapy” is still something allowed to continue in the United States. I just cannot comprehend why this is still an issue. I believe that there are many out there who, like me, have not spoken up about it before now for lack of knowledge that this barbaric practice is still plaguing the children of this country.

Homophobia is no excuse to punish and traumatize minors, and shame on the parents who seek this out. There are no words to describe the long-term damage that these children are suffering at the hands of these prejudiced health care quacks.

I am calling to all members of the community to write a letter to our state representative calling for a similar ban in Washington, as well as on a federal level. Please speak up for those who are too young to speak for themselves.
