MAC admission prices increasing

Admission prices will increase at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture as of Sunday.

According to a news release, the increase marks the first change in admission prices in more than 10 years. The new rate is $10 for adults, up from $7, and $7.50 for seniors, up from $5. The student rate (with ID) remains $5.

Also changing at the MAC: access to the Joel E. Ferris Research Library and Archives. As of Aug. 16, the archives are open by appointment only. This move should be temporary, said museum spokeswoman Rebecca Bishop. A longtime employee has retired, and the library is closing until a new part-time librarian can be hired.

The library had been open from noon-5 p.m. Wednesday to Friday. Call (509) 363-5342 or email archives@northwestmuseum.org to make an appointment.
