Boise State whips New Mexico

Grant Hedrick tossed three touchdown passes and Jay Ajayi rushed for 147 yards and a score to power the Boise State Broncos (8-4, 6-2 Mountain West Conference) to a 45-17 victory over the New Mexico Lobos (3-9, 1-7) in Boise.

Hedrick completed 13 of 21 passes for 175 yards with no interceptions. Backup QB Joe Southwick tossed a TD pass for the Broncos’ first score.

Ajayi also hauled in a 29-yard TD pass from Hedrick.

Iowa State 52, West Virginia 44 (3OT): Redshirt freshman Grant Rohach threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Justin Coleman in the third overtime and the Cyclones (3-9, 2-7 Big 12) came from 24 points down to beat the Mountaineers (4-8, 2-7) in Morgantown, W.Va.

Rice 17, Tulane 13: Taylor McHargue threw for a TD, Jawon Davis ran for one on the next possession and the Owls (9-3, 7-1) held on to beat the Green Wave (7-5, 5-3) in Houston to reach the Conference USA championship game for the first time.

Georgia 41, Georgia Tech 34 (2OT): Todd Gurley ran for 122 yards and three TDs, including two scores after regulation, and the Bulldogs (8-4) rallied after trailing by 20 points in the first half to beat the Yellow Jackets (7-5) in Atlanta.

BYU 28, Nevada 23: Jamaal Williams rushed for 219 yards and a TD and the Cougars (8-4) scored all their points in the second half to beat the Wolf Pack (4-8) in Reno, Nev.

Utah State 35, Wyoming 7: Darell Garretson threw three TD passes to lead the Aggies (8-4, 7-1 Mountain West) over the Cowboys (5-7, 3-5) in Logan, Utah, to clinch the Mountain Division and earn a shot at Fresno State for the conference championship.

Colorado State 58, Air Force 13: Kapri Bibbs ran for three TDs, Garrett Grayson threw for 395 yards and three TDs and the Rams (7-6, 5-3 Mountain West) clinched their first bowl bid in five years with a rout of the Falcons (2-10, 0-8) in Fort Collins, Colo.
