Lake City wins opener
Kyle Guice tallied a game-high 20 points as Lake City pulled away in the second half and beat Wenatchee in a nonleague season opener Saturday in Coeur d’Alene.
Guice added 11 rebounds and six blocks and made 7 of his 8 free-throw attempts. Senior Jacob Dahl added seven points for Lake City.
The Timberwolves outscored the Panthers 33-24 in the second half to put the game away.
Kellogg 59, Coeur d’Alene Charter 28: Jesse Lambert made five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points to guide the Wildcats (1-0) to a nonleague win over the host Panthers (0-1).
Gus Colburn and Chrishtian DeYoung added 10 points apiece for Kellogg.
The Wildcats grabbed control from the outset by outscoring Coeur d’Alene Charter 16-2 in the opening quarter.
