Lakers waive Harris

The Los Angeles Lakers have waived forward Elias Harris, the team announced Friday. Harris, who signed a partially guaranteed deal as an undrafted free agent out of Gonzaga after a solid run with L.A.’s summer league team, appeared in two games with the Lakers this season, registering one rebound, one assist and one steal in 11 minutes. “I think he has a chance,” Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said of Harris. “I think he has a chance to be a good player – not this year, it’s going to take a little bit – but if he continues to develop, he’s somebody we should watch and hope the best for him. He was great and I think he’s got a future in this league.” – AP
