Obituary: Roach, Edna E.

ROACH, Edna E. 1921 - 2013 Edna Adele Ellett was born February 9, 1921, to Harry and Mildred Cline Ellett in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Richmond, Texas.

She married B-29 pilot, Lloyd Elliot Roach from Oregon.

Story is they flipped a coin and settled in Spokane after the war to open their own real estate and closing companies, Empire Realty and Empire Closing.

Edna continued closing real estate transactions well into her 70’s before retiring.

They had three children, Cheryl Roach Miller, Lloyd Dennis Roach (wife JoAnn) and Robert E. Roach.

Edna was preceded in death by son “Robbie” at age 13 and her husband, Lloyd, at age 85.

She has three grandchildren, Mark Aaron Miller, Scott Elliot Miller and Michael Dennis Roach.

Edna is also survived by her sister Mildred (Midge) Young; nephews Cline and Chris Young; niece, Cary Young Fyfe; and seven grand nephews and nieces, all residing in Texas.

She became a volunteer at the Shriner’s Hospital and poured her heart and soul into the children’s lives.

She also enjoyed working with the 3C’s in Coeur d’Alene.

Her family would love for you to join them in a small celebration of Edna’s life at Orchard Crest, 4th floor Activity Room, S. 222 Evergreen, Spokane Valley on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
