Blazers end Pacers’ 7-game winning streak

NBA: LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 points and 10 rebounds and the Portland Trail Blazers defeated visiting Indiana 106-102 on Monday night, snapping the Pacers’ seven-game winning streak.

Paul George had a career-high 43 points for Pacers (16-2), who own the NBA’s best record.

The Blazers (15-3) have won 13 of their last 14 games.

Pelicans outlast Bulls: Jrue Holiday made a three-point play with 2.6 seconds remaining in the third overtime, giving the New Orleans Pelicans a 131-128 victory over the host Chicago Bulls.

Nets’ Pierce has broken hand: The Nets’ Paul Pierce will be out two to four weeks with a broken bone in his right hand.

No suspensions in Mich.-Ohio St. fight

College football: The Big Ten office has decided not to suspend any players or coaches for their actions in the wake of a fight in Saturday’s game between No. 2 Ohio State and archrival Michigan. The conference office issued a public reprimand to Buckeyes starting right guard Marcus Hall and the Ohio State coaching staff.

Grobe resigns as Wake Forest coach: Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe is resigning after 13 seasons at the school.

Bloomquist headed back to Mariners

Baseball: A baseball official with knowledge of the deal says the Seattle Mariners are on the verge of bringing back utility man Willie Bloomquist.

Bloomquist spent the past three seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Mariners. He spent the 2009-10 seasons with Kansas City and Cincinnati.

Yankees, Ryan reach deal: Infielder Brendan Ryan has agreed to a $5 million, two-year contract to remain with the Yankees in a deal that includes team and player options for 2016. … In other moves, catcher Dioner Navarro and the Blue Jays agreed to an $8 million, two-year contract. … The Nationals obtained right-hander Doug Fister from the Tigers for infielder Steve Lombardozzi and left-handers Robbie Ray and Ian Krol. … The A’s acquired closer Jim Johnson from the Orioles for infielder Jemile Weeks and a player to be named.
