Obituary: Johnson, Janice Louise

Age 42

JOHNSON, Janice Louise (Age 42) Was born on June 7, 1971 in Spokane, WA to Keith and Patricia Johnson.

She was a lifelong resident of Spokane and a 1989 graduate of Rogers High School.

Janice worked in nursing homes as a dietary aid and later as a certified nursing assistant.

Janice dealt with health issues her whole life.

She was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of two and was considered one of the first patients to be cured of this disease.

In 1997, Janice was diagnosed with meningioma that made her life more difficult.

This condition pushed her left eye out, grew into her sinus, took the hearing from her left ear, and created problems with her opening her mouth.

While she was herself slowed down by medical afflictions that never stopped her from lending a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Her positive attitude and sweet demeanor will be missed by all who knew her.

After a yearlong battle with cancer, Janice passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of November 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia; brothers, Brian and Brad; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Keith.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials may be sent to the All Saints Lutheran Church or Hospice of Spokane.

Visitation will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 3rd and 4th from 9:00am - 5:00pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 4305 N DIVISION SPOKANE, WA.

A family graveside service will precede the memorial service.

Please join family and friends for a “Celebration of Janice’s Life” memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM, December 5, 2013 at the All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce St. in Spokane.
