Obituary: Scharpenberg, Elouise E.

Age 91

SCHARPENBERG, Elouise E. (Age 91) Of Lacrosse passed away on November 29, 2013 at Pullman Regional Hospital.

Viewing will be at Bruning Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00am at the Lacrosse United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the LaCrosse Cemetery.

A potluck dinner will be held at the church after the committal.

Elouise was born in Spokane, Washington on September 18, 1922 to Jesse and Doris (Stalker) Campbell.

She was a member of the Lacrosse United Methodist Church, Farm Women’s Club, and the Colfax Bowling Association.

Her favorite hobbies were gardening, dancing and playing bongo balls (a game that she always won).

She is surivived by her sister Barbara Swales of Texas; daughters Shirley Hardy of Salem, Oregon, Lois (Richard) Barry of LaCrosse, Cindy August of Hayden, Idaho and Donna (Paul) Swavely of Spokane; grandchildren Dena Bennett, Darin and Derick Barry, Scott Hardy, Kristi Leonard, Jessica and Breanna August, Kayla and Emily Swavely; and great-grandchildren Cody and Trevor Bennett, Jessica, Jamie and McKenna Hardy and Jaxton Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 39 years Carl Scharpenberg and husband of 14 years Walt Schweiger; brothers Arthur, Eddie and Jack Campbell and sisters Betty Wendlandt and Bea Miller.

Memorial contributions in Elouise’s memory are suggested to the Lacrosse EMTs, the Dollars for Scholars fund or to the Lacrosse United Methodist Church.
