Obituary: Boyle, Patricia Lou

Age 82

BOYLE, Patricia Lou (Age 82) Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed peacefully into heaven sur- rounded by her family on December 3, 2013.

She was born March 9, 1931 in Spokane, Washington to Jack and Elizabeth Whelan and attended St. Aloysius Grade School and Rogers High School.

Patty married Allie Boyle, also of Spokane, on September 23, 1950.

During their 63 years together, they raised four sons and enjoyed camping in their RV, fishing, bowling and playing endless competitive hours of cribbage that she won more often than not.

She was a regular at daily mass and an active parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

No worries when it came to new technology!

She loved texting on the iPhone and the Kindle reader fueled her passion for reading and learning new things.

Always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, her home was always open for a friendly conversation, coffee, sporting event or happy hour.

Faith, family and friends were the focus of a life well lived.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Elizabeth Whelan; her brothers, Robert and Dick Whelan; and grandson, Joseph Boyle.

Surviving family members include her husband, Allie; sons, and spouses, Jerry (Launa), Bob (Tricia), Rick (Jolene) and Patrick (Laura); grandchildren, include Kim (Selwyn), Ryan, Jenna (Rick), James, Kathleen, Patrick, and Conner; great-grandchildren include, Cameron, Aynika, and Amani.

Services will be held at St. Xavier Catholic Church located at 545 E. Providence Ave. in Spokane, Washington on Monday, December 9, 2013.

A rosary service will be held at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.

An informal reception will be held at St. Patrick’s parish hall located at N. 5021 Nelson Street in Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul society or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
