Obituary: Cocco, L. Andrea

COCCO, L. Andrea (Gustafson) She was born, November 25, 1925 to William J. and Lillian Rose (Wargstrom) Gustafson in Spokane, Washington.

Andrea passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 2, 2013 in Cedar City, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Cocco, of 35 years in 1990.

She moved to Cedar City six years ago to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Kenneth Brown.

She is also survived by three grandchildren Shannon Malloy, Kristen Kelly and Patrick Kelly; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She has four sisters - Dorothy Nadine Alward, Mary Charlotte Alward, Rose Christine Camp and Elizabeth Enid Von Holt; two brothers William F. Gustafson and Gerald W. Gustafson, also two cousins Jean Goeringer and Suzanne Munro.

Andrea attended St. Francis of Assisi Grade School, Marycliff High School and Holy Names College.

She was a lady of strong faith and was involved in church activities at our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral and was a long time member of the Catholic Business Women’s Association.

Andrea and Cocco were partners in real estate for many years until his death.

She continued to work as a Realtor until her retirement in 1999.

Andrea was very proud of her Scandinavian heritage because all four grandparents came from Sweden and Finland.

That fostered a deep interest in genealogy.

She visited these two countries for research as well as visiting numerous relatives.

Her many years of work and study resulted in a detailed history of our family tree dating back to 1308.

This was her gift to all of us.

Our family is gathering in late spring for a service for “Andy” with burial next to her husband “Cocco”.
