Obituary: Haralson, Jerry D.

HARALSON, Jerry D. (Age 92) Passed away November 12, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

Jerry was born January 31, 1921 to Stanley and Etta (Files) Haralson in Childress, Texas.

He graduated from Spearman High School in 1941.

He was a WWII Army veteran.

While in the service he met Marion French and they were married on May 28, 1944, they were married for 65 years.

They moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1948.

Jerry worked at the Paper Mill in Millwood, WA for almost 20 years.

His last job before retiring was as a school janitor.

He enjoyed traveling, playing games, visiting nursing homes, and visiting with friends.

He belonged to the Eagles and enjoyed bowling on several leagues.

He was a member of Christ’s Gospel Fellowship Church for 50 years.

He served as a board member for many of those years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his three sisters: Isabelle, Marie and Alma; his brother Carver and his loving wife Marion.

He is survived by his son John Haralson and fiancĂŠe Vickie Lyons; daughter Carol and her husband Gene Hochstedler; 11 grand- children; 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on December 14, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home.
