Obituary: Joyce, Flora L. “Micki”

Age 87

JOYCE, Flora L. “Micki” Our family mourns the passing of our dear mother on December 3, 2013 at the age of 87.

She was born in a log cabin in Elk City, Idaho, delivered by her father George Annable, on September 10, 1926.

Mom was raised in Portland, OR, met the love of her life, William “Bill” Joyce at a USO dance in 1942 at the age of 17.

They were married October 22, 1943, and were together until his passing in February of 2010.

She cherished her neighbors of 55 years, and her friends in T.O.P.S.

Club.

Micki’s passions were roses, reading, completing crossword puzzles in ink, a tough one to beat at Scrabble even up to a few days before her passing.

Micki loved all family gatherings and holidays.

She and dad had special memories of visiting the Oregon coast, and her favorite city, San Francisco (especially the fog horns).

Micki was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Bill, and her daughter Laurie Hamilton (John), in August 2013.

She is survived by her daughters, Rita Joyce (Michael Stinger), Linda Chamberlain (Garry), four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no formal services.

A family memorial will be set at a later date.

Special thanks to Horizon Hospice and At Home Care who, as a team, gave Mom very loving and professional care.

Memorial contributions may be made to Horizon Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
